چکیده

We review the status of hybrid baryons. The only known way to study hybrids rigorously is via excited adiabatic potentials. Hybrids can be modelled by both the bag and flux–tube models. The low–lying hybrid baryon is N 1 2 + with a mass of 1.5 − 1.8 GeV. Hybrid baryons can be produced in the glue–rich processes of diffractive γN and πN production, Ψ decays and p¯ p annihilation.

Hybrid and Conventional Baryons in the Flux-Tube Model

Abstract Conventional and hybrid light quark baryons are constructed in the non-relativistic flux-tube model of Isgur and Paton, which is motivated by lattice QCD. The motion of the flux tube with the three quark positions fixed, except for center of mass corrections, is discussed. It is shown that the problem can be reduced to the independent motion of the junction and the strings connecting t...

Hybrid Baryons, a Brief Review

This contribution is a brief review of the status of hybrid baryons, which are hypothetical baryons that incorporate a gluonic excitation. We first summarize the status of hybrid mesons, since this closely related topic has seen considerable recent activity with the identification of two exotic candidates. Next we review theoretical expectations for the masses and quantum numbers of hybrid bary...

Flavor - singlet hybrid baryons may already have been discovered

The splittings between the spin 1/2 and spin 3/2 iso-singlet baryons Λs(1405) and Λs(1520), and their charmed counterparts Λc(2593) and Λc(2625), have been a theoretical conundrum. Here we investigate the possibility that the QCD binding of color octets comprised of three quarks in a flavor singlet configuration is stronger than previously envisaged, allowing these states to be interpreted as h...

Hybrid Inflation and the Moduli Problem

We revisit some questions in supersymmetric hybrid inflation (SHI). We analyze the amount of fine tuning required in various models, the problem of decay at the end of inflation and the generation of baryons after inflation. We find that the most natural setting for HI is in supersymmetric models with non-renormalizable couplings. Furthermore, we argue that almost inevitably, one of the fields ...

Chiral perturbation theory for hadrons containing a heavy quark.

Charm and bottom mesons and baryons are incorporated into a low energy chiral Lagrangian. Interactions of the heavy hadrons with light octet Goldstone bosons are studied in a framework which represents a synthesis of chiral perturbation theory and the heavy quark effective theory. The differential decay rate for the semileptonic process Λb → Σ c +e+νe+π is calculated at the zero recoil point us...
